The Apiary

Nestled alongside the historic Grand Union Canal at Bascote Locks, our apiary is where the story of Bridge 28 honey begins. Here in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, our honeybees forage across a rich tapestry of local wildflowers, hedgerows, and clover pastures.

We manage our colonies with a deep respect for the environment, practicing sustainable, small-batch beekeeping that prioritizes the health of our bees above all else. The result is a pure, unpasteurized honey that carries a distinct, hyper-local flavor unique to this stretch of the canal.

Bridge 28 Apiary

Harvested in late summer from our hives at Bascote Locks, this jar captures the peak of the Warwickshire sun. Throughout June and July, our bees forage far and wide along the Grand Union Canal towing paths and surrounding countryside. They gather nectar from a vast tapestry of summer wildflowers, including sweet clover, bramble blossoms, lime trees, willowherb, and garden borage. This multi-floral blend creates a deeply complex, traditional honey that is uniquely ours.

A classic, rich amber honey with a deep, warm sweetness and a robust, fruity-floral finish. Unlike the quick-setting spring harvest, our Summer Honey stays beautifully liquid and translucent for much longer. It has a gorgeous, velvety pour and a full-bodied depth of flavour that lingers on the palate—the ultimate expression of British summertime in a jar.

  • Origin: Bascote Locks, Warwickshire (Bridge 28 Apiary)

  • Harvest: Summer

  • Profile: Rich amber, liquid, and deeply floral

  • Best Enjoyed With: Drizzled over overnight oats, paired with fine cheeses, or used as a natural sweetener in your favourite bakes.

Bridge 28 Apiary

Harvested from our hives situated along the Grand Union Canal at Bascote Locks, this honey is the very essence of a Warwickshire spring. As the countryside wakes up, our bees forage on the abundance of early-season blossoms—hawthorn, blackthorn, wild cherry, horse chestnut, and the brilliant yellow fields of oilseed rape. The result is a hyper-local, completely raw honey that captures a specific moment in time in our canalside hedgerows.

Our Spring Honey is beautifully pale, delicate, and naturally sweet with subtle, clean floral notes. Because spring forage—particularly oilseed rape—is naturally high in glucose, this honey has a wonderful characteristic: it sets rapidly into a smooth, fine-textured, naturally crystallized or creamed state. It is incredibly luxurious and spreadable, making it absolutely perfect for slathering onto warm, fresh sourdough.

  • Origin: Bascote Locks, Warwickshire (Bridge 28 Apiary)

  • Harvest: Spring

  • Profile: Pale, smooth, and delicately floral

  • Best Enjoyed With: Spread thickly on hot buttered sourdough, stirred into morning coffee, or enjoyed straight from the spoon.
