Crafted at the historic Toll House by Bascote Locks, Bridge 28 is home to three artisan passions: small-batch roasted coffee, raw honey from our apiary, and traditional sourdough bread. Right at the water’s edge, we focus entirely on patience, precision, and exceptional quality—always small-batch, and never rushed.
Bridge 28 Roastery & Apiary
Seasonality & Sustainability
At Bridge 28, we source only specialty-grade, current-crop beans that follow the global harvest calendar. Because coffee is a seasonal fruit, our offerings rotate throughout the year to ensure peak flavor. We partner exclusively with sustainable, transparent supply chains that pay premium prices directly to farmers, supporting both their livelihoods and the environment.
The Lineup
Toll House Roast:
Our signature house profile. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, it is crafted for the everyday ritual and delivers a deeply satisfying, classic cup.
Seasonal Specialty:
A rotating single-origin micro-lot. As the global harvest moves, this slot showcases vibrant, distinct flavour profiles from the world’s finest coffee-growing regions.
Decaf:
Exceptional specialty coffee, without the caffeine. Using premium beans and gentle, chemical-free water processing, it retains full body, sweetness, and complexity.
Small-Batch Craftsmanship
Every batch is roasted in meticulous small quantities right at the water’s edge of the Grand Union Canal. Using advanced induction heating and precision grinding, we lock in absolute freshness at the final second before packaging.
The Roastery
Bascote Locks Beekeeping
Just steps from our roasting workspace, the Bridge 28 Apiary is embedded directly into the landscape of Bascote Locks. Our production colonies live and work right here at the water’s edge, managing our hives with the exact same focus on patience, precision, and artisan care that defines our roastery. We practice sustainable apiculture, keeping the welfare of our bees at the heart of everything we do.
The Honey
Pure, Raw & Cold-Extracted:
Handled entirely in our canal-side workshop, every frame is hand-uncapped and spun without heat. By avoiding commercial flash-heating, we keep the natural enzymes, trace pollens, and authentic flavors completely intact.
The Taste of the Canal Corridor:
Our honey is a direct reflection of our immediate surroundings. Because our bees forage on the changing wildflowers, ancient hedgerows, and water meadows along the Grand Union Canal, every seasonal batch yields a completely unique color, texture, and flavor profile.
From Hive to Bottle
We only harvest the surplus honey our bees can safely spare, bottling it in small, local batches. It is unblended, unfiltered, and entirely shaped by the Warwickshire seasons.
Pure lock-house honey—straight from our combs to your kitchen.
